Hi everyone once again. Yes it has been a long wait. I have been so busy but but I can’t wait any longer. Cheeky Nikky said that one day would not be enough for me to understand the machinations of the modern Mobile – and actually she was right! She will patiently give me another lesson when she visits me again on Sunday.- Another day to look forward to.
Gosh, so much has happened since my last blog. I told you that having sold my car it was more convenient to meet up with Lily Bobtail here at Lark Hill, and they came together with Grandpa and Grandma on Sunday the 1st. I said that we were excited but I did not expect it to affect me so much! We were half-way through the meal before I could hold my knife still. I must explain that I started with a tremor in my right hand way back in 1992 which gets gradually worse as the years roll by, but I am still completely self sufficient, – doing all my own cooking etc. without any problems. It gets worse when I have company though, and obviously much worse if I get excited.
How super it was to see my TV star and family once again though. It was a very emotional experience, and hasn’t she grown! They don’t serve chips on a Sunday though so she couldn’t pinch one of mine!
We had met in the reception area, so they were all eager, once lunch was over, to come over to see my new E-Trike. THEN they told me that they had also brought Lily’s Bike and she was keen to go a ride with me! No of course not on the main road, but we did have a ride around the Village which we all enjoyed. – spectators and all. I’m hoping that Nikky has photographs to show you. (Nikky has to post all my blogs at the moment!)
The other great news is that we can now organise the OPHF4YO’s monthly ‘Get together’. Last week I wrote to our Manager to ask what the chances were and got an immediate reply that there were now no restrictions preventing us. Furthermore, because of the renovation process about to commence, we can use the whole of the Restaurant area because they now use the Cocktail Bar and Dance Floor for drinks and meals. It was noticeable that one of the Parents wrote to me asking the same question. This is going to be much better for the Children however who must have felt cooped up in the smallish Jackdaw Lounge, and I hope a meeting can be arranged by the end of the month. I do know that at least two of the Families are away on holiday this week, but I also know that the Parents are as keen as we are.
I.m keeping my fingers crossed! ‘Bye for now, Ken. x
