Hello once again everyone, and good news too. Not only do I have a new e-tricycle, but we have also arranged for Lilly Bobtail and Family to have lunch together here at the Lark Hill Restaurant. On Sunday 1st August we shall see each other for the first time in over 18 months, and we all are looking forward to it and are getting excited already.
Sadly I decided to bite the bullet and sell my car. I had always said that I wouldn’t wait until something happened to force me into it. However, I have now bought an electric Tricycle on which to do my shopping. I have to admit that it wasn’t as straight forward as I had imagined. The difference from riding a Bicycle reminded me of when I changed from riding a Motorcycle to riding a Motorcycle with a Sidecar attached. The technique is almost the opposite. Fortunately there were plenty of spaces and roads inside the Lark Hill Village compound in and on which to acclimatise myself. Also as I bought it over the internet I got a local mobile bike company C&L Mobile Bicycle Repairs to come out and give it a safety check first as the handlebars had become a bit loose in transit. I must say that they were excellent and came out at 2:30 that same day, checked everything over for me, adjusted the seat, explained how the battery works and even gave me a lesson in how to ride both a tricycle (very different from 2 wheels as can topple over if you lean) and also the e-battery part. They even gave me a lesson and really boosted my confidence, I am so glad they came out so soon, and only cost £40 which was SO worth it.
I have now got more confident with a couple of days practicing around the village, and then ventured down to Morrisons to do my shopping, which was the main reason for buying it, so that I was not reliant on public transport for my shopping. It all went very smoothly and I must say I was very proud of myself when I came back with the back pannier full of groceries!!!
On Monday my daughter Nikky came to see me, and give me her old iPhone, so I am finally trying to enter the new world of mobile phones and apps, I dare say it will take me a while, but she also took some photos and a video of me on my new trike (which I have named Etty, for E-Trike (E-T))
I am really looking forward to next Sunday when I will see Lilly Bobtail and family after all this time, and will post more photos then – if I can’t quite manage to work out the photos bit of my new mobile phone I am sure Emma will take some!!!
Love Ken xx
